PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) – After a five hour long session Tuesday night, the vote from the Portland Board of Public Education on the plan for reopening schools has been postponed. The board voted to readjourn tonight at 5 pm. The proposed plans include a combination of in school learning and remote learning. Several other issues still need to be discussed, most notably staffing needs. The Portland Press Herald also reports that the proposed plan calls for the start of school to be delayed until September 14, although students would have an opportunity to return for a “sample day” the week of September 8 to see what school will look like.
