Crews battled a three-alarm fire overnight at a Portland lumber yard.

Fire fighters were called to Eldredge Lumber and Hardware on Presumpscot Street around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Flames could be seen for miles.

Presumpscot Street was shut down after the fire was reported, but the road was back open for the morning commute on Thursday.

Police said no employees were at the business at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze has not been released.

The portland fire and police departments will be assisted at the scene by the State Fire Marshal’s Office on Thursday.
