Portland police have made an arrest as they investigate vandalism at two businesses on Congress Street.

Portland PD said Monday the vandalism occurred Saturday and Sunday, with the first incident at Reny’s and the second at Flea For All. Windows at both businesses had been broken.

50-year-old Michael Hale of Portland was identified as the suspect in both incidents. He was charged by summons with two counts of Aggravated Criminal Mischief.

Police say similar acts of vandalism, as well as a burglary, were reported at two businesses on Wharf Street on Sunday but don’t appear to be connected to the ones Hale is accused of.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Portland police.
