Portland-planned Governors conference moves online

PORTLAND (AP) — The Summer Meeting of National Governors Association had been slated to meet Wednesday in Portland. However, due to coronavirus concerns, the association has decided to move the event online.

The organizers of the event said that more than 40 governors are expected to participate. With an exchange of chairmanship from Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) over to New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D).

Portland last hosted the meeting in 1983.
