Portland burglary suspect ID’d after wallet was left at the scene

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Portland police have arrested a suspect in a residential burglary.

Police said 32-year-old Troy Day was arrested just after 3 a.m. Wednesday for a burglary at a residence on Park Avenue. Police were called after the residents were awoken by noises in their apartment and saw an unknown man in their living room.

Police identified Day after recovering his ID from his wallet, which was left at the scene. He was found a short distance away and taken into custody. He’s charged with Burglary, Theft and Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs.

Day was taken to the Cumberland County Jail and is being held on $10,000 bail.
