The Portland Police SWAT team assisted the FBI Safe Streets team with a search warrant for guns and drugs Tuesday morning.

There was a large presence of vehicles and officers with weapons drawn at the Portland Expo building around 7 a.m.

They reportedly tried to stop a suspect in a vehicle who fled, with witnesses seeing a vehicle speeding away from the scene.

Police Chief Mark Dubois says the FBI Safe Streets Team later executed a search warrant related to drugs and guns at 819 Congress Street.

It’s not yet clear if the two incidents are directly related.

Police have not provided an update on the situation or details about any arrests.
