Portland police investigate after driver struck utility pole, fled scene

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Police in Portland are looking for a driver who fled after striking a utility pole early Thursday.

Police said it happened a little after 4 a.m. Thursday on Ocean Avenue and Morse Street. Police found a rented SUV at the scene, but no driver.

Power was knocked out to residents, and Central Maine Power crews arrived on scene to restore power. The SUV was towed from the scene.

Police are still investigating.
