Portland Police investigate non-fatal stabbing incident at Longfellow Square

One man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing another man in the face in Portland’s Longfellow Square last (Saturday) night.

Portland Police say they responded to Longfellow Square Park a few minutes after 8:00 PM for reports of the stabbing. The victim, a 66-year-old Freeport man, was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested the suspect a little while later; 48-year-old Donald Cousino who is said to be homeless. He’s currently being held at Cumberland County Jail.

The people involved reportedly did not know each other, and the attack was unprovoked according to witnesses.
