Portland Residential Building Fire Disrupts Munjoy Hill Neighborhood

There are no injuries but several residents are displaced from a Monday morning building fire in the Munjoy Hill neighborhood of Portland.

Firefighters say they arrived at 55 Morning Street just before 11 am to find an active fire on a fourth floor deck and elevated the scene to an All Hands assignment.

They say they were quickly able to containe and put the fire out, while the Morning Street area was closed briefly for operations and investigation.

Portland firefighters say there’s no information yet on the cause of the fire. They’re crediting the the building’s working alarm system for the quick response.
