he Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery is now under a hiring freeze.

The Shipyard announced the freeze on social media Monday, saying an upcoming hiring event next Tuesday has been canceled.

The freeze announcement comes as there are ongoing reductions and cuts at federal agencies by the Trump administration.

The Naval Shipyard says it’s trying to understand and prioritize its resources.
