WASHINGTON, D.C. (WGAN)  President Donald Trump has declared a major disaster after October’s powerful windstorm that knocked out power to roughly half the state.

The president made the declaration Tuesday, according to the White House. It’ll bring in federal funding for 13 counties in the state that were affected by the storm.

The amount of money being made available was not released.

The storm, just before Halloween, knocked out power to about 500,000 Mainers at its peak.
