AUGUSTA, Maine (AP)   A hearing is set to determine whether one of three teens charged in the strangling and stabbing a Maine woman should be tried as an adult.

Law enforcement officials say the 15-year-old son of 47-year-old Kimberly Mironovas strangled and stabbed the Litchfield woman with the help of a 15-year-old male friend from Massachusetts in April 2018.

A bind-over hearing starts Tuesday for the Massachusetts teen charged with murder. The hearing for the victim’s son will be held later.

A third teen from Massachusetts pleaded guilty to conspiracy.

Law enforcement officials have not released a motive. But a friend of Mironovas said her son was resentful of their move to Maine and wanted to return to Massachusetts. Two of the son’s friends from Massachusetts were visiting when she was killed.
