A last-minute push to delay the use of ranked choice voting in the presidential election has been shot down by the Maine Supreme Court.

The Maine GOP filed the last minute injunction this week to stop the system from being used on the ballot. The court previously ruled that the people’s veto referendum challenging ranked choice didn’t gather enough valid signatures.

The court on Thursday upheld that decision, clearing the way for ranked choice to be used on the ballot in the presidential race.
