SOMERVILLE, Maine (AP) _ Drivers in Maine are calling for officials to provide a fix to a “dangerous” stretch of Route 105 in Lincoln County.

Somerville resident Dave Rafuse lives at the top of a steep hill on Route 105 _ a hill he says has been a black ice hazard for the past several winters. WGME-TV reports local officials say two drivers have lost control of their cars driving down the hill in this past month.

Rafuse says drainage from rain leaks right out onto the road and down the hill, turning it into a “big skating rink.”

Billie Casella says her jeep flipped upside down in a ditch because of the icy hill.

Somerville Road Commissioner Josh Platt agrees that a solution must be found for the drainage problem.
