The Maine Department of Health and Human Services will be closing its Rockland office after an employee tested positive for Coronavirus, the department announced Sunday.

The Maine DHHS office in Lewiston has closed twice after two positive test results.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 News, the Rockland office will close Monday but plans to reopen Tuesday. The Rockland office will undergo cleaning and sanitizing Monday.

The employee last worked in the Rockland office nearly two weeks ago, and their role did not involve visiting clients at their homes or “significantly engaging with the public” in the office.

The Maine Center for Disease Control is working to identify people who came into close contact with the employee and advising them on precautions to take, including whether testing is necessary.

About 20 employees were working in the Rockland office last week.

The DHHS regional offices are open to the public only for paperwork drop-offs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
