Rumford man accused of shooting his brother faces charges

Police say a Rumford man is in critical condition after he was allegedly shot by his brother.

Police responded to a home on Route 2 in Rumford around 6:30 p.m. Monday for a domestic disturbance complaint. Officers found 23-year-old Drew McKenna had been shot at the home. He was rushed to the hospital and remained in critical condition at Maine Medical Center on Tuesday.

Detectives arrested Drew’s brother, 27-year-old Shay McKenna, and charged him with elevated aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon. He’s being held without bail at Oxford County Jail.

Police are still investigating the shooting.
