Scarborough police are searching for a suspect they say led officers on a chase before fleeing on foot.

Police said they tried to stop the vehicle around 10 a.m. Monday on Payne Road for a traffic violation but the driver sped away heading northbound.

Police were called to an area of Payne Road where the vehicle had gone off the road, with a K9 track unable to find the driver.

The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Anyone with information or video footage of the incident is asked to contact Scarborough Police.
