Scarborough police seeking driver of vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run

A bicyclist has died of their injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Scarborough.

The crash happened around 4:15 a.m. Friday near Southgate Road and Route 1 south.

Police say the driver of a vehicle fled after striking a bicyclist, 59-year-old Howard Gribbin, who was taken to Maine Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.

The vehicle is believed to be a silver SUV-style vehicle with significant front-end damage.
