A semi cab is completely destroyed from a fire while being towed on the Maine Turnpike in Auburn overnight this morning.
State Police Troopers say they were called to the scene near the New Gloucester Barrier Toll at about 3:45 am where the semi cab’s tire had caught fire from an unknown cause.
The entire cab was consumed by the fire, while the tow truck hauling it successfully disengaged and was not damaged, and its driver, Bradley Miller, was not injured.
The destroyed cab was a 2018 Kenworth, which was being towed by a Peterbilt 567 tow truck owned by Flynn’s Towing out of Juliustown, New Jersey
Turnpike traffic was limited to one lane for several hours while crews cleaned the area but was later reopened.
