Sen. King, Rep. Golden Announce State of the Union Guests

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) Maine U.S. Sen. Angus King and Rep. Jared Golden have announced their guests for the upcoming presidential State of the Union address.

The Portland Press Herald reports King, an independent, said Monday he is bringing Margo Walsh as his guest.

Walsh is the owner and founder of MaineWorks and co-founder of the Maine Recovery Fund, which helps provide jobs to immigrants, and to people recovering from drug addiction.

Golden, a Democrat, says he is inviting Maine AFL-CIO President Cynthia Phinney, the first woman elected president of the state pro-labor organization.

Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins previously said she is inviting state Rep. Kathleen Dillingham, the Republican minority leader in the state House.

The State of the Union takes place Tuesday night.
