The office of Senator Susan Collins in reacting after her Biddeford office was vandalized with graffiti.

A vulgar insult was spray painted on the glass door of the office, with a photo of the vandalism being shared Monday on social media by Republican State Senator Matt Harrington.

Collins’ chief of staff Katie Brown called the vandalism “unacceptable,” and said they would not be “intimidated.”

“Our Biddeford constituent service office remains open, and we will continue serving the people of Maine,” said Brown.

Biddeford Police are reportedly investigating the vandalism, which was also condemned by Collins’ Democratic opponent in November’s election, Troy Jackson.

State Senator Harrington shared his thoughts along with the photo he posted on social media. “What has the world come to? This is disgusting, disappointing and it’s not the Maine I grew up in,” Harrington said in a Facebook post. “Do better.”
