WASHINGTON, D.C. (WGAN) Senator Susan Collins was recognized on Tuesday for excellence in public service.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Senator Collins was awarded the 2019 Excellence in Public Service Award from the Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs.

The award is given every year to an individual who has a distinguished history of public service that has led to more effective administration.

Past recipients include Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of Defense James mattis.
