Series of meetings scheduled to discuss new flight paths for LifeFlight helicopters


The public is getting a chance to weigh in on proposed low-level flight paths for LifeFlight helicopters.

The company that operates LifeFlight of Maine says the new paths will allow for the aircraft to fly safely and reliably in poor weather to move more critically injured and ill patients.

According to CBS 13 news, the routes were devised alongside the FAA to allow pilots to fly higher or lower depending to reduce transport time.

The first of three meetings took place at the airport in Sanford on Tuesday night.
