Serious Injuries in Maine Turnpike Crash of Tractor Trailers

Image of overturned semi tanker truck from Maine Department of Public safety

A 64-year-old man has serious injuries in a crash involving two tractor trailers on the Maine Turnpike near York Thursday night.

Troopers say one of the two semis was a water tanker which rolled onto its side and blocked two traffic lanes.

Driver Larry Roberge of Waterboro was taken to Portsmouth Hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the other semi, 40-year-old Konstantin Volikov of Fredericton, New Brunswick, was not injured.

The crash took place on the southbound side to the turnpike (I-95) at 5:42 pm Thursday, which backed up some traffic during drive time with the lane blockage.

Troopers say the crash is still under investigation.
