Several people injured in accident involving Monster Truck in Topsham

TOPSHAM (WGME) – Several individuals were injured when a monster truck entangled a utility wire and brought down a pole onto spectators on Saturday.

During a show at the Topsham Fairgrounds, a Renegade Monster Truck Tour vehicle went off a jump and collided with an overhead utility wire.

The wire became entangled with the truck, causing multiple utility poles to fall, one near the area where spectators were watching.

Multiple injuries occurred when a utility pole fell onto spectators after being pulled down by a monster truck in Topsham on Saturday.

Authorities report that one spectator was struck by the pole, and two individuals were hospitalized. Several others also sustained injuries.

The incident led to a power shutdown in much of Topsham to ensure safe treatment and evacuation of those on site.

Authorities are currently investigating the crash.

Attempts by CBS 13 to contact the Renegade Monster Truck Tour’s owner for a statement have so far been unsuccessful.
