Sidney teenager injured after getting struck by vehicle in crosswalk near UMaine

A driver faces charges and a teen from Sidney is recovering after they were struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk.

According to the Sun Journal, 18-year-old Steven Anthony was attempting to cross Main Street in front of Scott Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the driver, 39-year-old Samantha Deckerd of Strong, struck Anthony, who was treated and released from the hospital the same night.

The crash is still under investigation.
