Madawaska woman reported missing found safe in Bangor


UPDATE: Maine State Police say Cyr was found safe in Bangor.

MADAWASKA, Maine (WGAN) Police have issued a Silver Alert for a Madawaska woman.

Madawaska police say the alert was issued for 78-year-old Leola Cyr, who was last seen at 1 p.m. on Tuesday leaving her home on Main Street.

Police believe she was heading south to a Bangor hospital to visit her husband. She’s driving a 2016 silver Honda Odyssey van with Maine registration 527EH.

She has dementia and isn’t supposed to be driving alone.

Cyr is white, 5’1″ with brown hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Madawaska police.
