Single-vehicle crash in Franklin County leaves one woman dead

A Rangeley woman was killed after her car rolled into a brook in Dallas Plantation on Friday.

Police received a call around 11:40 a.m. reporting a vehicle on its roof that had gone into the water near Stratton Road.

According to Maine State Police, an investigation found that the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree before rolling down an embankment and into the water.

The driver, 70-year-old Deborah Ryder of Rangeley, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
