AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) A small group of Republican lawmakers plans to travel to the Maine Statehouse to call on colleagues to return to session.

Republican Rep. Shelley Rudnicki, of Fairfield, said the Legislature is a co-equal branch of government that must begin work immediately.

At present, committee work will soon be starting, but there’s no date for lawmakers to convene for votes.

She said lawmakers need to deal with some of the governor’s COVID-19 restrictions.
