South Portland Man Arrested on Drug Charges


SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN)  The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says a South Portland man has been arrested on drug charges.

25-year-old Khang Tran was arrested Wednesday, after a car he was in was stopped on Main Street in South Portland.

He was wanted on outstanding warrants for drug trafficking.  Police say during his arrest, they found 16 grams of cocaine powder on him, along with $3,560 in suspected drug proceeds.

He was taken to York County Jail, where bail was set at $100,000.

Police say a search of his Lincoln Street apartment led to the seizure of 1.5 pounds of cocaine, worth $50,000, and three loaded handguns, two of which were reported stolen from Portland and Scarborough.
