A tense standoff and high-speed chase ended Friday night with the arrest of 52-year-old Aaron Difillipo. Deputies were called to Oak Hill Road in Standish Thursday night after a homeowner reported a suspicious Jeep matching the description of a shooting suspect. Difillipo, who appeared highly intoxicated, refused to comply with deputies’ commands and fled the scene in his Jeep.
After a brief pursuit, Difillipo eluded capture but was later spotted on Route 113. He again refused to stop, leading police on a chase that continued onto Route 5/117 and into Cornish. Maine State Police eventually used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, and Difillipo was taken into custody.
During the arrest, a CCSO K-9 apprehended Difillipo, causing minor puncture wounds to a deputy’s arm. The deputy was treated and released from the Maine Medical Center.
Inside Difillipo’s vehicle, authorities found 30-30 shell casings, liquor, and a crossbow. He faces multiple charges, including OUI, criminal threatening, illegal possession of a firearm, obstructing government administration, and eluding an officer.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is securing a search warrant for Difillipo’s residence and continues to investigate the incident.
