Standish Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

A Standish man is dead following a crash Saturday afternoon.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, 56-year-old Bruce Smith drove his motorcycle through a stop sign and collided with a truck. The crash happened in Gray at the intersection of Shaker Road and Route 26A.

Our info partners at CBS 13 News report Smith was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

The truck driver, 37-year-old Ryan Glidden, of Gray, is OK. Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
