ORONO, Maine (AP)   A number of Maine dog trainers and their furry friends have brought canine stress relief to students at the University of Maine this week.

A number of therapy dogs were on hand Wednesday at the Orono campus to offer free pets and hugs to students. The Bangor Daily News reports students had a few hours with Shelburne the golden retriever, Jade the golden doodle and May-Bee the papillon.

Fogler Library hosted therapy dogs during finals week during both semesters in the last school year as well.

Junior Mackenzie Menard, originally from Massachusetts, says she misses her dog at home and therapy dogs are “exactly what you need during a super stressful time.”
