A Portland woman has dropped a lawsuit against the city that alleged excessive force by police officers in 2014.

The city said that the suit filed on behalf of Mumina Ali was dismissed with prejudice on Tuesday.

Two officers and Michael Sauschuck, the police chief at the time, were named in the suit, which claimed that Ali was illegally arrested and tied to a bed and medicated without her consent at Maine Medical Center. She also claimed that she was choked until she was unconscious and fell and chipped a tooth.

The city says there was no settlement.

An investigation by the police department’s Internal Affairs Division in 2014 cleared the officers of any wrongdoing. Police Chief Frank Clark says he reviewed audio and video evidence earlier this year, and also found no evidence of wrongdoing.
