Sun glare a factor in crash involving 12 vehicles on Lewiston-Auburn bridge

Sun glare is being blamed for multiple crashes on the bridge connecting Lewiston and Auburn Thursday morning.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge on the eastbound side was down to one lane Thursday morning but had reopened before noon.

Auburn police said they responded to four crashes involving 12 vehicles on the Auburn side of the bridge.

Police initially said there were no serious injuries but later confirmed that two children were taken to the hospital after complaints of pain.
