Surge continues with 1 new death, 152 cases of coronavirus Saturday

The Maine CDC reported one new coronavirus related death on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 163.

The latest death was a woman in her 80s from York County.

The Maine CDC also reported 152 new cases of COVID-19, Saturday, brining the total cases to 8,791. Of those, 7,882 are confirmed while 909 are probable.

The Maine CDC says 572 people have been hospitalized at some point during their illness and 6,597 have recovered.

Dr. Nirav Shah took to Twitter to provide information surrounding testing growth and community transmission growth in Maine.
