Suspect charged with murder after father found dead in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Portland police have made an arrest in connection with a homicide investigation.

The department said officers responded to a call for a well-being check at 17 Carleton St. around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. Inside, they discovered the body of 50-year-old Salim Al Siraj.

Police arrested his son, 22-year-old Abdallah Salim Al Siraj and charged him with murder.

Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
