Suspects in Androscoggin County robbery apprehended in Portland

Two people wanted in connection with an armed robbery and assault in Androscoggin County were arrested in Portland following a foot chase.

According to the Portland Press Herald, members of the Maine Violent Offender Task Force chased down 21-year-old Alexander Lewis and 20-year-old Willow Lewis on Cumberland Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

The pair were taken into custody around 12:30 p.m. and brought to the Androscoggin County Jail. Bystander video appears to show the arrests taking place behind Merrill Auditorium.

A third person, 20-year-old Dominick Morrison, was also arrested and charged with violating his bail conditions.

No shots were fired and no one was injured. Officials say the two robbery suspects were not carrying weapons when they were arrested.

Details about the robbery and the charges have not been released.
