The Portland Jetport temporarily shut down Sunday afternoon after security found a suspicious bag.

Police say around 2:30 p.m., a checked bag was flagged for a potential explosive device. TSA notified Portland Police.

Police shut down the area and evacuated the airport while they inspected it.

However, after a thorough search, the device in question turned out to be an “expensive camera,” according to police.

The ordeal ended up delayed six flights — two of which were rerouted. One of the flights was to Manchester and the other to Boston.

Police say one flight was kept on the Jetport tarmac, and the other three never took off from the original destination.

Police say no charges have occurred at this time and all operations are back to normal.

The investigation took about two hours.
