State Police say the exits in Kittery at Mile 2 of the Maine Turnpike were closed Wednesday due to a crash involving a tanker truck.

The truck, which was carrying propane, crashed on the northbound off-ramp a little before 10 a.m. according to police.

Rescue personnel were working to free the driver of the truck, the release said. No word yet on the driver’s condition.

When the release was issued, there had been no reports of leakage of the fuel.
