SCARBOROUGH, Maine (WGAN)  Scarborough Police say a teenager is facing charges after a traffic stop that involved stolen plates.

Tuesday afternoon, police say they stopped a car on Route 1 because they believed the car had false plates.

Police say the driver, 19-year-old Kyle Campbell was found to be operating without a license.  He then admitted to attaching the false plates, which police say they learned had been stolen out of Portland within the last two hours.

Campbell was charged with operating without a license, attaching false plates and theft by receiving stolen property.

Police say a passenger in the car, 18-year-old Beth Kelley, was reported missing out of Oregon and arrested on a nationwide extradition warrant out of Oregon for assault.
