PORTLAND, Maine (AP) Developers want to transform the so-called “Time & Temperature” building in downtown Portland into a luxury hotel with rooftop bar.

The 14-story building is topped with a giant flashing sign that provides the time and temperature and can be seen for miles around.

The Portland Press Herald reports that the city’s historic preservation board will review the plan, which includes 186 rooms, banquet and meetings rooms, a restaurant and retail stores.

The developer hopes to have the project completed by the end of 2023 ahead of the building’s 100th anniversary.
