BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) An attorney for a Maine town is demanding the owners of a mobile home park find a solution to their water supply issues, or he will take legal action within 24 hours.
In a letter sent to the owners of Bay Bridge Estates on Wednesday, the attorney for Brunswick says the owners’ failure to provide water to their tenants has become a public health issue.
The Portland Press Herald reports residents have been unable to shower, do laundry or wash dishes for several days.
The owners of the park blame cold weather for a spike in water usage. They say they turned down or shut off water pressure so the two wells that serve the 400 residents don’t go dry.
The owners say they are planning to install a third well.
