One of the Mainers charged for their role in the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021 is set to appear before a federal judge this week.

Kyle Fitzsimons of Lebanon has pleaded not guilty to more than 10 charges. He’s accused of attacking three officers at the Capitol that day.

The trial is set to begin Tuesday.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a motion to have $12,300 of the $20,215 donated to Fitzsimons through an online fundraiser transferred to the government to help pay for his court-appointed attorney.

Fitzsimons is one of four men with connections to Maine who have been charged in connection with the events of January 6.
