MAINE (WGME) —  Maine and Canadian utility workers have been deployed state-wide to cut down trees and repair power lines after tropical storm Isaias left more than 90,000 without power last night.

A majority of outages occurred in York and Cumberland country . As of 6:15a.m. Wednesday, 12,000 in the state have already had power restored.

The head of CMP issued the following statement:                              “Crews have been out all night assessing the damage and clearing roads. We expect the wind to die down early in the morning, enabling us to focus on restoration and to work more quickly.”

If you are to come across a downed powerline, DO NOT approach it. No powerline is ever safe to touch, and the area surrounding it can be just as dangerous.

CMP is still assessing the damage, and have yet to know when power will be fully restored. For a full list of CMP power outages, click here.
