Two charged after traffic stop leads to drug, gun seizure in Portland

Portland police say two people were arrested and drugs and a gun were seized during a traffic stop on Monday.

Police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Cumberland Avenue and Elm Street in the late afternoon.

The department says a polymer gun was found in the vehicle as well as illegal drugs.

The driver, 38-year-old Katherine Haskins was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, operating after registration suspension and two counts of violating conditions of release.

Her passenger, 38-year-old Joshua Young, was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, and violating conditions of release.
