Two European Suspects are charged with swatting Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows

Two European men are being charged with targeting the home of Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows in a targeted swatting attack.

The incident occurred in December of 2023 and came about after her decision to remove President Donald Trump from the presidential ballot last year.

Shenna Bellows sats that although swatting is a basically a hoax, these incidents can cause actual harm.

CBS 13 reports that the Maine secretary of state was not the only person targeted in these attacks and that around 100 people were also aimed at from around the country.

The two suspects are from the countries of Romania and Serbia.

Bellows says that technology has made physical security and cyber security intertwined.

She also said that swatting is becoming a bigger problem in politics and other areas as well.

The suspects are facing dozens of charges in this case.
