Two Facing Drug Charges in Bangor

Danielle Tomah and Amanda Newell

BANGOR, Maine (WGAN)  Two Maine women have been arrested after police found drugs in their motel room.

The Bangor Police Department says they were called to a hotel on Odlin Road for a 911 hang up.  Police say they found there was no issue, but learned of heavy foot traffic in and out of two specific rooms.

Police say found drug paraphernalia inside one of the two rooms.  One woman inside the of the room gave police a false name, but they were able to identify her as 26-year-old Danielle Tomah from Indian Township.  She was charged with furnishing, unlawful possession and violation of condition of release.

Police say a second woman in the room, 34-year-old Amanda Newell was found to have crack cocaine hidden in her clothes.  The Perry woman was charged with misdemeanor drug possession.

Both women were then taken to Penobscot County Jail.

Police say they got a search warrant for both rooms and found more evidence, including more crack cocaine.  Tomah and Newell are both expected to be charged with trafficking.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
