Two Firefighters and Eight Guests Sent to the Hospital After Hotel Explosion

Officials say an explosion and a fire significantly damaged a hotel in New Hampshire and sent two firefighters and eight guests to the hospital.

None of the injuries suffered was life-threatening. The New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s office says the explosion happened early Tuesday morning at the Element Hotel in Lebanon.

The fire chief says it blew out an exterior wall, bent the elevator and destroyed fireproof doors. Officials are still investigating the cause, but they do not believe it was criminal in nature.

Fire Marshal Paul Parisi says it may have been caused by gas. The hotel is part of the Marriott chain.
