Portland police say two people have been indicted in a 2012 homicide.

Police said Thursday that 31-year-old Zachary Phach and 27-year-old Khang Tran are charged with murder, aggravated attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy.

The department says the pair were responsible for the triple shooting that resulted in the death of Matthew Blanchard.

It happened in July of 2012, when Blanchard was walking with three relatives on Congress Street. Shots were fired at them, hitting and killing Blanchard.

Two of his relatives were also shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Tran was already in custody in Philadelphia and Phach was arrested in California. Both will be extradited back to Maine.
